The Poems nominated were:
  1. “My Flatland’s Breeze” by N.A. Doss
  2. “The Inside Room” by Emily Lozier

A little about the Pushcart Press:

Every year between October 1- December 1, Pushcart Press opens to nominations of prose and poetry from small presses all over the world. The Pushcart anthologies have been published since 1976. Editors may nominate up to 6 works that appeared or will appear in their own journals during the calendar year. A selection committee also makes nominations.

Our SCJ Pushcart Reading Event:

To celebrate the nomination of these literary works, SCJ held a reading event on January 22 from 4pm – 6pm. At the event, SCJ members as well as a few of the Pushcart nominees read the nominated pieces. The event was then later broadcasted by WSUV’s very own, KOUG radio (kougradio.com). We at SCJ hope to continue nominating journal submissions for the Pushcart every year. Writers who want to have their work considered are encouraged to submit to the journal when submissions are open.
