2026-2027 Publishing timeline

September 28, 2026

Open Submission

We begin taking in submissions from students, staff, and local artists, and start reviewing them on a weekly to monthly basis. The entire team work together to choose the pieces that best fit our journal mission and collaborate with the contributors to best present their work.

March 1, 2027

Submission Deadline

The team will finish reviewing any unread submissions and make our final decision on the work to include for our next printing journal. The Layout and Design Editor will work with other Salmon Creek Journal staffs, contributors, and students to create a final draft of the journal.

April 6, 2027

begin printing process

The final draft is sent to our printing press! We work with the press on quality control and make sure there’s enough copies to go around.

May 1, 2027

publish celebration banquet + Distribute printed copies!

Now that all copies are printed and properly organized, we’ll host our new, yearly celebration banquet and distribute a copy to each of our contributors, interested students, and around campus!
