2025-2026 Publishing timeline

September 18, 2025

Open Submission

We begin taking in submissions from students, staff, and local artists, and start reviewing them on a weekly to monthly basis. The entire team work together to choose the pieces that best fit our journal mission and collaborate with the contributors to best present their work.

December 15, 2025 – January 11, 2026

Winter break!

After finals week is finally over, the team will start putting together all of our event planning from last fall and get ready for events, workshops, and publishing in the spring semester.

March 1, 2026

Submission Deadline

The team will finish reviewing any unread submissions and make our final decision on the work to include for our next printing journal. The Layout and Design Editor will work with other Salmon Creek Journal staffs, contributors, and students to create a final draft of the journal.

March 23, 2026

begin printing process

The final draft is sent to our printing press! We work with the press on quality control and make sure there’s enough copies to go around.

April 20, 2026

Distribute printed copies

Now that all copies are printed and properly organized, the team will try our best to distribute a copy to each of our contributors, interested students, and around campus!
